By just looking at the pictures you can see the obvious reasons as to why we chose this tent.
First its the size of the tent, especially the size of the vestibule. It can hold all our gear and we still have room to cook in it for those really bad days when the weather is wet and cooking outside is impossible.
Next it’s the large window/exit from the sleeping area, which is also covered with mosquito netting. This is great in warmer climates were we open both exits and have a nice draft through the tent. I would also like to mention that this tent is extremely stable and held up to some severe storms with gale force winds and hail.
The weight comes in at nearly 5 kg’s which is on the heavy side, but for the comfort and price, it’s value for money.

The ground sheets we use for the tent are of plastic bought in every DIY shop for a few euro’s. Since our tent is so big we use two 2 x 3 meter sheets.

Our old tent, which is still in good working order, was the Jack Wolfskin Worlds End RT, also a three person tent. Our daughter uses it now when she and friends go camping. We’ve used it from 2006 up until the end of 2011.

For sleeping we have always used Therm-a-rest mattresses, many types to choose from and extremely reliable. We use the lightweight models.
We also use the Wildebeast summer sleeping bags and in colder nights we just add more clothes. We’ve used them since 2006, and they’ve served us well, but I think we’ll be in the market for new one’s soon.

For cooking we use the Campingaz twister (older 2006 version) with the MSR Alpine 2 Pot Set, which we’ve also been using since 2006.

The rest of our camping gear can be found in the packing list.
